MultiMedia @ VoiceOfaRt

On the multimedia workshop @ Voice of art the participants had opportunity to learn more about the process of creating a video. From writing the scrip, recording the material and the editing process that comes on the end. The [multimedia] workshop was leaded by Agnieszka Piatczak, Poland and Ramses The Lonelywarrior, France.

They choose to show stereotypes about some of the countries in Europe that were taking part in this YE, so they decide to use the stereotype about the love and the breath (baguette) for France, drinking coffee as stereotype for Turkey, the green salad for Macedonia, the music of Shopin as stereotype for Poland etc.
In one of the scenes there is the circling around the trees that as metaphor for me means a lot..and also the universal circle from all of the participants that shows the Solidarity that connect all the nations. I really like the moment with the pronunciations of Solidarity on different languages, is so similar, almost the same..to bad that I didn't have time to make the shooting for the Macedonian version „Солидарност“, but let it be for some other time.

In very short time, like 24 hours at all, more or less for 3 days the team from this workshop made great video. Congrats for them! The solidarity as Voice of Art. We really made master pieces on this exchange.

Enjoy the video :)

Monster.S for soliDAR*ity

For the exhibition that took place in the Maison de la famillies in Metz I decide to create art piece that will be mix of the three techniques/ workshops that were actually part of the youth exchange connect with contemporary art called Voice of Art.

Voice of Art was a youth exchange organized by the association Together, on my blog for my stay in France you can find other articles connected with it. In this exchange participants from 6 countries were able to learn more about contemporary art and also to create part of their ideas participating in three workshops: street art, art installations and multimedia.

The street art workshop was leaded by me and can find more about here. The other two workshops were leaded by Bruno de Sario, Italy [art installation] and Agnieszka Piatczak, Poland and Ramses The lonelywarrior, France [multimedia].

I have some expirience with video/ multi media and installations from before and I felt perfect opportunity to try to play with this three forms and create mixed media work that will be connect and will express the way how I accept and understand the topic of this excange 'solidarity'

The last period I use my facebook status to write some shorts about monsters and monster mood and somehow I find connection between the monster.s and solidarity. I try to show the main feelings that I have when I think about solidarity. I made monster[s] that [are] push[ing] for solidarity.

In the painted form I played with graff, stickers and expressionistic techniques. The stickers that I made before I apply in the wooden board same as sometimes I put them on the walls around the places where I travel.. ..

In the installation I try to use as less as possible, because one of the aim in my works is to show that a lot of things can be created from low budget materials, most of them organic and easy for recycling. This ecoLogic.al way of creating art in my eyes is the future of the contemporary design, art & living.

In the short conceptual and bit experimental video I give a soul to the monster that I already have it in 2 forms..that comes to my concept like finishing the circle of 2D, 3D with bringing the monster in moving and giving him life. I create monster with feelings..

The combination of this 3 forms bring my idea and concept in final result in which the message is clean..if u understand it good if not again good :)

marbling or EBRU art @ vOICE OF aRt

One of the things that the Turkish group present on the intercultural event , part of the youth exchange Voice of art was interesting technique of playing with colors and inserting the mixed color on different materials.
The first time I saw the same technique in live on the Balkan Youth Festival in Bulgaria, few years ago as part of the street art program. They make for all of us, participants in the program, scarfs every one of them with a different design.

This time the group from Turkey show us video in which the artist apply the color on paper. I saw this video while ago, I like it and I decide to share it :)

This technic is famous as.TURKISH MARBLING or EBRU art ..Marbled paper, called ebru in Turkish, was used extensively in the binding of books and within the calligraphic panels in Turkey.

The existing word ebre in Eastern Turkish, meaning variegated, points to the fact that marbling might have been known by the populations of Central Asia. Its origin might ultimately hark back to China, where a document from the T'ang dynasty (618-907) mentions a process of coloring paper on water with five hues. In the early examples from the 16th c. in the Ottoman-Turkish era, ebru appears in the battal (stone) form, namely without any manipulation. Interestingly, several variations developed in time, giving us types such as gelgit, tarakli, hatip, bülbül yuvasi, çiçekli (respectively come-and-go, combed, preacher, nightingale's nest, flowered, etc.) An attempt has been made here to show some of its principal patterns, with samples by the master marblers of this century chosen from our collection.

Ebru technique consists of sprinkling colours containing a few drops of ox-gall on to the surface of the bath sized with kitre (gum tragacanth) in a trough. By carefully laying the paper over the bath, the floating picture on top of it is readily transferred to the paper; thus, each ebru is a one of a kind print. To obtain beautiful ebru results, one needs to have a light hand, refined taste, and an open mind to the unexpected patterns forming on the water. Patience and a good knowledge of traditional culture are characteristic of ebru masters.

After the 1550's, booklovers in Europe prized ebru, which came to be known as ‘Turkish papers’. Many specimens in their collections and in the several album amicorum books are visible today in various museums. Also, early texts dealing with ebru, such as “Discourse on decorating paper in the Turkish manner”, published in 1664 by Athanasius Kircher in Rome, helped to disseminate the knowledge of this kind of marbling art. There is agreement amongst scholars that the so-called Turkish Papers played a colorful influence on the book arts in Europe.

_breast cancer :S

Well I don’t know a lot, actually I don’t know at all. I know that I have some relatives that are fighting against this cancer and I know trough what kind of process they are passing.

I will write a bit for this cancer cause I’m familiar with the campaign that is global famous this last two years. Last year on the facebook status of our girl friends we start reading colors. There was nothing more then the color. On the end we find out that is actually the color of their bra and with this they are trying to build bigger awareness between the people about this Big PRoblem avec cancer.

This year again from the same girls, friends on facebook we start reading “”I like it on…” It is one more time great idea. This time the idea was more open and in the beginning the people start thinking that they become very open with the world and start sharing with us the places were they like to do the sexual act.

After a while they show to the world that the message/ information is not about that but about: "where they put their bag after they come from school/ work/ walk…" Amazing idea again, they catch the audience in the first day and after that was world famous that is the same campaign about awareness about breast cancer.

I didn’t have a plan to write for this but after I met one person that made a photos from the commercial in Thionville on the clock tower in the center I decide to ask for the photo and write this what you read.

thank you @Pierre Feisthauer for d photo

If you met me till now you already know that I’m supporter of different campaigns for raising up the global awareness.

..

The other part of the story will be connect with this lovely sign, cancer. I don’t like it at all I’m scorpion and I would love to make it disappear at least in the form world famous as killing machine.

My father pass away from the same fucking shit and there is no end of this. For the aids we were speaking OK, is virus, is easy to catch it if you’re junkie, alcoholic, prostitute or worst but this, this have no limits.

He don’t choose age, nationality, religion and traditions in living it can eat everyone..

I don’t want to speak about it anymore, neither for the main one, neither for the one that we try to spread the word for this month.

..just sad emotions for the people who fight with and wish for them to have the will to stand against it and try all the human resources for destroying it.

One of the volunteers from Poland that is doing her EVS stay in Together as me told me about this contest few days ago. In the beginning I was not very interested because the things that were shared on the wall for the contest were not so inspiring for me to put the link of my blog. I mean in technical way: videos without any production at all, private photos that are not artistic and some blogs that are already ready made. ..

After a while I check the info for the contest better and decide that will be even interesting to write a bit about this contest and the idea of my blog/ diary. The idea about this contest in general is amazing, I would really like to see and read about the stories of the other young people from Europe who are doing their private or professional trips/ stays in Europe. As Macedonian for me this program of the European Commission open the doors of Europe for first time in my life and all the things that are happening to me in the moment are pretty new and I’m happy that I had the opportunity to come in France and do my EVS in Together.

In basic the idea of my blog is to write everything what is connected with my EVS stay in Together, France. I firstly start writing about the youth exchanges, training courses and other PR.ojects that our Association is organizing but as the time was passing I start writing about all the other things that happened to me here, in Europe.
I already wrote about some of the exhibitions that I visit, the theater shows that I attend about different designs that I’ve done for the needs of my organization etc.

In the period I’m here I start doing hours work for one other association in the city where I live. So I made few posts about the activities that I made in the association for kids and youth “Jacques Prévert”.

In my blog you can find also posts about my trips in Italy, Belgium, Luxembourg, Swiss and around France. All at all stuff connected with youth work, youth development, culture and art. The topics that I consider as important for my future development as person.

Enjoy reading! :)

*I really like and support the idea for this contest Youth on the Move [an initiative of the European Union]

Caravaggio?

I’ll write only a bit for this. I found this exhibition ten minutes after my arriving in Lecce, Italy. After the first street from the train station that lead to the center of Lecce, in one of the small and tiny streets I found one big garden. The track with the sound equipment and the workers were making a stage for one of the concerts that should be part of the “white night” event in Lecce that day.
There was big billboard on one of the walls on which with big letters was written Caravaggio?
One of the things that are familiar for me is that I don’t want to miss some exhibition if I already pass trough some gallery, exhibition space or museum. The moments when I’m able to visit some exhibition for me are presents.

I just invite the other people from the group to enter inside just for a few minutes and to have the pleasure to enjoy the originals from this world famous artist.
The space were the art pieces were exposed was ex church. There were still ornaments and some parts of the church that are protected, but most of the space was open for the public and plus we had the works of this artist.
His art pieces were shown in few lighted rooms but there were also some dark rooms where the audience was able to watch documentaries connected with the life and the work of Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio.

Three pieces were exposed in the center of the church. Around them there were materials for restoration. The loop was zooming in one part of the painting were the different shapes of the brown were difficult to be defined. We were able to see the process of protecting this art work.

The art works of Caravaggio are magical. They bring with themselves the power of that time in which they are created. In the church there was special, unusual energy that was coming out of this art pieces. The people with tranquility and peaceful look were analyzing with hours every single centimeter from His works.
Strong moves of his characters, powerful looks, in Caravaggio works it was not difficult to define the power of one signature.

We didn’t have enough time to watch the doc. Movies. To bad that the organizers of this exhibition didn’t left some promo material about the works of Caravaggio, the names of the paintings, the years when they are made, and the years when they pass trough restoration process. There was also not information about the names of the documentaries that were projected and the authors/ directors of the movies. ..

Fascinated from the idea that we find out about this exhibition we continue exploring other interesting locations and places in this old city with very beautiful architecture.

what is "Youth in Action" programme?

Youth in Action is the EU Programme for young people aged 15-28 (in some cases 13-30). It aims to inspire a sense of active citizenship, solidarity and tolerance among young Europeans and to involve them in shaping the Union's future.

Youth in Action is a programme for all! It promotes mobility within and beyond the EU borders, non-formal learning and intercultural dialogue, and encourages the inclusion of all young people, regardless of their educational, social and cultural background.

Youth in Action is the successor of the YOUTH Programme (2000-2006). Building on the experience of the previous programmes for youth, Youth in Action is the result of a large consultation with the different stakeholders in the youth field and aims to respond to the evolutions and needs of young people at European level.
With a total budget of 885 million Euros for seven years (2007-2013), the Programme supports a large variety of activities for young people and youth workers through five Actions.

Youth in Action in figures

• Duration: 2007-2013

• Budget: 885 million euros for seven years

• Geographic reach: EU Member States, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Turkey, the EU neighbours (Eastern Europe and Caucasus, the Mediterranean region, South-East Europe) and other partner countries in the world

• Age brackets: 15-28 (in some cases 13-30)

Programme Actions

The Youth in Action Programme aims to achieve the following general objectives:

  • promote young people’s active citizenship in general and their European citizenship in particular;
  • develop solidarity and promote tolerance among young people, in particular in order to foster social cohesion in the European Union;
  • foster mutual understanding between young people in different countries;
  • contribute to developing the quality of support systems for youth activities and the capabilities of civil society organisations in the youth field;
  • promote European cooperation in the youth field.

To this end, the Programme is structured around 5 Actions:

Action 1 - Youth for Europe

Encourages young people's active citizenship, participation and creativity through youth exchanges, youth initiatives and youth democracy projects.

Action 2 - European Voluntary Service

Helps young people to develop their sense of solidarity by participating, either individually or in group, in non-profit, unpaid voluntary activities abroad.

Action 3 - Youth in the World

Promotes partnerships and exchanges among young people and youth organisations across the world.

Action 4 - Youth Support Systems

Includes various measures to support youth workers and youth organisations and improve the quality of their activities.

Action 5 - Support for European Co-operation in the Youth field

supports youth policy co-operation at European level, in particular by facilitating dialogue between young people and policy makers.

Programme priorities

The Youth in Action programme has four permanent priorities and additional annual priorities which potential projects will have to be aware of as they frame their bids for support:

European Citizenship: A key goal of the programme is to raise awareness in young people that they are citizens of Europe, as well as citizens of their own countries. The aim is to get youth actively involved in shaping the future of the European Union. Projects will have to show a strong European dimension if they are to receive programme backing.

Participation of young people: Youth in Action promotes and supports young people’s involvement in democratic life, spurring them on to be active citizens who care about their communities and understand the value of representative democracy.

Cultural diversity: Respect for people’s cultural origins is at the heart of the Youth in Action programme, as is the desire to fight against racism and xenophobia – forces that undermine European values and people’s solidarity.

Inclusion: The focus is on ensuring that young people with fewer opportunities get access to the Youth in Action programme, as well as on encouraging projects with a thematic focus on inclusion.

Annual priorities: In addition to these permanent priorities, each year the focus is also placed on specific annual priorities.

FJT expo

One of the things that Mara (the exTogether volunteer) from Swiss made with the little help of me, was organizing small exhibitions of photography in the place where we live. Frontieres des jeunes travaillers or also famous as FJT host in their entrance 10 big prints of photos made by the members of Together representing the diversity of the colors in the country flags. With this play of the colors and the combination between them the people who live in FJT had the opportunity to see some of the youth work that our organisation is doing but also to learn more about the countries part of EU and also bit about their basic information, culture, tradition.

The exhibition was on of the tasks that Mara should do as connection between Together the organisation responsible for her EVS and FJT the institution that host her for her voluntary service. The program manager in FJT was great also and help with the work. :)
Like all the exhibition was pretty well accepted from the people here, they were interesting in the countries that we present and also in the program that we use.

Very soon we'll make some other form of promoting Together in the building that I live, especially now when Mara EVS is finish and here is the new girl from Lithuania, Monika that is also full with ideas about animating the habit-ants of our building. She already made a small presentation of her country in the same place open for different promoting stuff.
The next step is trying to do something more creative in which the young people from our building will have direct contact with the creative things that we do in Together.

The association Jacques Prevert as part of their autumn program have to organize some events for the local citizens and the parents that send their kids in this association for the off line school program. Except that the association works with kids and teenagers they have special sector in which they care about babes also.

They propose me to draw some things that will be a bit similar to the posters that they design for the events but also to be bit artistic and with childish influence. I like the process of paining and for me it was a pleasure to draw something for this target group. You can see the results here and I wait for pics from the events too. I want to see how this two sheets fit in the space where they made the events. Hope that they put them on the right place. :))

Graf activite'

I just saw some of the photos from one activity that I made during the summer with some of the teenagers from the group that was attending the summer program in the Association Jacques Prevert.

Nice day fulfilled with fun and colors. We had only one piece of material on which I can show them the main idea of graffiti. Some of them were pretty interested in participating and they didn't even wait to explain till the end my idea about what we should paint.
We all decide that in the center we need to draw the short cut of the name of the association were we do the activity and it was easy for Us to put the letters AJP on the material almost with the same design as the logo.
After we had the letter they start with their fantasy and creativity and after while we already had all the space around the letter colored with amazing stories.

On the end the result was amazing and I'll remember the smiles on their faces after they figure out that they made nice graffiti.

It was absolutely right that we'll make a lot of pictures around the graffiti and now this piece of art is part of the office for animators.
It was nice experience for me to lead this graf activite' and try to inspire the participants to continue with drawing, painting or whatever connected with art.

We are almost on the beginning of our new youth exchange connected with art. We named this exchange as Voice of Art and is something like updated version of our first project with art since I'm volunteer in Together – Power of Art.

The web page for this exchange is already done and as it writes in the info there we will host 30 participants from 6 countries interested in developing their art skills.

We've plan few concrete workshops connected with the modern or contemporary influence in the art today and as part of this exchange we'll have the participants divided in 3 workshops. Mostly the people will have the free will and the idea of mixing those parts of the art in their pieces but mainly the ways of expressions will be trough:

  • street art

  • conceptual or installation art

  • video & multi media

In all this workshops the participants will have the opportunity to learn something more about this fields and also to create art pieces that in this or that way will be connected with this brunces of the contemporary art era.

We choose Voice of art because during all this art workshops there will be breeze (message) about solidarity. We'll try to input in the topic influence of the solidarity as one of the main engines of the democratic society.

As this project is part of the Youth in Action program we organized our time also for activities as discussions on different topics important for every young person as hopes, fears, future plans/ projects, simulation games, and also cultural events where all the countries participants will present their countries on some unique way.

More about the project sO.On :)
